                        72-Year-Old Woman Charged In Death Of Passenger

Virginia F. Gurganious, 72, of Burlington was charged with misdemeanor death by a vehicle. She was released on a written promise to appear in Alamance County District Court on February 2.

The accident occurred at the intersection of South Church and Morehead streets. Gurganious was driving the wrong way on a one way street.

Eundra Alston, 45 of Burlington was traveling south on Morehead street when the two vehicles collided. Alston had a green light.

Lora Tickle, 82, of Burlington was a passenger in Gurganious’ vehicle. Tickle was transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center and later to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, where she died from the injuries received in the accident.
