63-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Cary Accident
According to police, a 63-year-old motorcyclist suffered fatal personal injuries on the night of June 20 after he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a guardrail near Interstate 540 in Cary.
Capt. Don Hamilton of the Cary police says that the victim, Durham resident David Leon Gerberding, died at the scene.
Hamilton said the accident took place around 11 p.m. on Aviation Parkway.
Apparently, Gerberding lost control of the motorcycle and it ran off the road to the left before hitting the guardrail.
According to Hamilton, police do not believe speed or alcohol to have been factors in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
