4-Year-Old Manages To Start Van That Runs Over, Kills Infant

According to police, a 4-year-old Texas boy managed to start a van that then ran over a woman and her 3-week-old child, causing the newborn to suffer fatal personal injuries.

Police Commander Chris Havens said that the mother was placed in the hospital after the Burleson, Texas accident, which took place on the night of September 30.

Havens would not identify the persons involved or provide details about the condition of the mother.

Havens said the 4-year-old climbed behind the vehicle’s wheel, started it, and put it in gear. A 5-year-old child was also in the van with him.

Police said the woman saw what was happening and ran outside with the baby in her arms in an attempt to stop the van. Police did not say what the relationship, if any, between the woman and two children in the van was.
