According to the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, twelve students required hospital transport for the personal injuries they sustained on the morning of January 26 because of a wreck involving a Duplin County school bus.

Deputies said the bus’ driver, Tina Andrews, was charged with failure to maintain lane control in connection to the crash, which took place shortly after 7 a.m. on Ralph Sutton Road, near Tram Road.

Emergency officials said that none of the injuries suffered by the students were considered to be serious.

A total of 25 students were aboard the bus when the crash took place.
